IQ2US Premieres Sold-Out Debate on Super PACs

We kicked off our Fall 2012 debate season with a sold-out audience at Kaufman Center in New York City. The topic of the evening? How Super PAC spending has changed the face of politics.

Debate winners Trevor Potter and Jonathan Soros had stiff competition in David Keating and Jacob Sullum but ultimately convinced the audience that unlimited money corrupts government, leaving politicians beholden to its source. With the upcoming election on everyone's minds, the conversation continued well into the night at a post-debate dinner at master chef Daniel Boulud's Boulud Sud. Debate participants, moderator John Donvan, IQ2US donors, and leading political journalists were treated to a menu of roast duck and seared scallops. Photos below.

    The creation of Intelligence Squared Debates (particularly in the United States) is one of the absolute best things that has happened in the past few years as compared to almost everything else going on in the media these days.

    The majority of corporate dominated "news" media consumed by the masses these days is highly biased, not objective, and not worth viewing/consuming, and millions of Americans know this to be the case.

    Thank you for creating something that is worth paying attention to!
