    Motion: Death is not final

In regards to the hard problem of consciousnesses..

In one sentence, to give trace to how the physical brain creates consciousnesses:

    I think, therefore I am.

I am very interested because I am a physician and heard much of nde of my patients. Also I saw my mother three hours after her death to tell me she is in heaven.

In high school physics, I was taught that "matter can not be created or destroyed". If this is true then where did all the "matter" in the universe come from?

If your answer is from the "Big Bang", then I would ask what process provided the "Big Bang" to occur?

And would the universe have developed into its current configuration had the inititial "Bang" been an uncontrolled event?
Uh oh.......have we now crossed the barrier into "intelligent design"?

I feel the method of choosing the debate winner is flawed. I cannot say I know a better system, but I do believe that debate experts will know a better system. Otherwise I think your presentation is excellent and I plan to watch more.

Life after death doesn't make a bit a sense to me, once a person has debunked the claim that God exists as I have done, as I did by age 10 while attending church & Sunday school. I can provide so many reasonable proofs for why god is a myth, I just wish people were not SO frightened by the idea that once you die, you are dead. Death is perfectly okay, and natural to all of life, think about this, 'WHY are we programmed to fight SO HARD to remain alive in this life, IF THERE IS LIFE AFTER THIS ONE?' Wouldn't it be okay to laugh, then lay down and die, because you are about enter a second life???

what is stopping your audience from voting undecided (when they are not) and then voting "honestly" at the end.

Death is the penultimate personal experience that one can go through. And until that moment, one cannot "know" with any certainty if there isn't life after death...or if there is.
